Before your network users check out commuter licenses, they should make sure of the following:
•The portable computer must have a copy of the licensed application installed and ready to use. Remember, the application must be able to run off the network.
•The system is connected to the network.
•Has network access to the appropriate License Manager. (You do not need to set the lshost file or LSHOST or LSFORCEHOST environment variables to contact a specific License Manager because your user will be able to request a specific License Manager when using the commuter licensing utility).
•Has access to the Wcommute or lcommute utility.
–WCommute is a Windows-interface utility for checking out and checking in the commuter licenses.
–lcommute is a command-line utility for UNIX or Windows.
Note: If Hard Disk Serial is being used as a local locking criteria for commuter licenses, administrative privileges are required to check-out such licenses using WCommute/lcommute or WRCommute/rcommute utilities.
•If the License Manager is set up on a dual stack machine, then both IPv4 and IPv6 clients can checkout a commuter token from it.
•If the License Manager is set up in pure IPv6 environment, then only IPv6 clients can checkout a commuter token.
•If the License Manager is set up in pure IPv4 environment, then only IPv4 clients can checkout a commuter token.
•The commuter token can be checked in only in the mode (IPv4 or IPv6) in which it was checked out even if the License Manager is set up on a dual stack machine.
